1st set of instructions are for millivolt gas valves. (with or without a wall switch)
2nd set of instructions below are for IPI electronic ignition fireplaces (with or without a wall switch)
Instructions for Millivolt Gas Valve
Connect the two female connectors from our relay to the two male connections circled below.
One will be marked " TH"
One will be marked "TH TP"
There is a possibility that these terminals are being used by your wall switch (if you have one) If so, disconnect the connections that are on there and connect them to the Male connectors on our relay device. (this is why there are 4 wires)
You can now connect the two female connectors to the valve. TH and THTP
You should not use the middle terminal on a Millivolt valve, only the top and bottom.
Your are now connected.
Plug in the power cable into your smart plug. Use your voice to turn on the smart plug (which you can call fireplace in your app)
Your fireplace will ignite.
Note: You pilot light will need to remain lite if you have a manual ignition valve and not an automatic ignition.
Instructions for Wall switch spade connectors / IPI system
If you have a wall switch, find wall switch wire, there will be two spade connectors (sometimes wire nuts) connecting these two wires to your fireplace valve or wires from the valve.
Pull the wire connections apart, this will create four connectors.
Connect female connectors from the smart switch to the male connectors on the fireplace.
Now connect the two retailing male connectors from the smart switch to your wall switch or remote wires.
Turn On the power from the smart outlet and your fireplace should light. Make sure you smart outlet is connected to your Amazon or google account. Name the outlet "fireplace" in the Alexa app for example. You can now turn it on using your voice.
Please note: You must turn off the fireplace the same way you turned it on.
example: On with smart switch, off with smart switch... Good
On with smart switch, off with wall switch...will not turn off
The Smart switch is a dry contact circuit and does not put out any volts.
When power is applied to the smart switch a red light will come on and you should hear a click. This confirms it is working correctly.
TROUBLESHOOTING.
If you have an issue, try a few simple steps first.
Did you test the replay switch before installing under your fireplace? If no, then disconnect everything and test manually using. Be very careful about the USB connection
Check power under Fireplace.
Make sure your smart outlet is connected to your account and working correctly.
